The Irish-American Society of New Mexico is a nonprofit (501c3), nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization whose purpose is to further Irish-American relations through education, travel, camaraderie, recreation, charity, music, and dance.
Membership in the Irish-American Society is $20.00/year for an individual and $25.00 for a family. Membership includes the monthly newsletter, The Irish Times (delivered electronically).
Our annual events include our Christmas Party in December, and of course our St. Patrick's Day Party in March. Our monthly meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at 7 PM (except in July and August), and usually include a program about Irish music, culture, language, etc. We also participate every year in The Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival in May and the Edgewood Celtic Festival in October.
Before the pandemic, our monthly meetings usually took place at the First Unitarian Church Hall, but since March of 2020 we have had to bring all programs and events to our members virtually. Still no definitive word on what will happen in 2022, so please check in here often to see what's up and what's next for the IAS.
